Admissions Information For Men

California Rehab for men

Welcome to The Grove Recovery Network

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably had enough—enough of the cycle, the stress, the quiet moments when it all feels like too much. At The Grove, we work exclusively with men who are ready to reclaim control and take an honest look at what healing really takes. Our programs are built for adult men facing substance use head-on, whether it’s alcohol, weed, pills, heroin, or anything else that’s been holding you back.

Based in Santa Ana, we offer structured, practical treatment through our PHP and IOP programs. These aren’t generic programs—they’re built for real life, designed to give you tools that actually work, in an environment where you can be yourself. No fluff. No shame. Just support that meets you where you are and helps you get where you’re meant to be.

Our Program Step-by-Step

Reaching out for help takes strength—but getting started doesn’t have to be complicated. At The Grove, we’ve designed our admissions process to be as smooth and supportive as possible, so you can focus on what really matters: getting better. Whether you’re local to Orange County or traveling from another part of California, our team will walk you through each step clearly and personally.

The First Call and Insurance Verification

When you call The Grove, you’ll talk to someone who understands what you’re going through and respects where you are in your journey. We’ll ask a few key questions about your current situation, then go over treatment options—including our PHP and IOP programs—to see what fits best. We’ll also verify your insurance coverage and break down any costs so there are no surprises. If you don’t have insurance, we can explore other ways to help you move forward.

Scheduling an Assessment

After the initial call, we’ll schedule a confidential clinical assessment. This is a one-on-one conversation—either in person or virtually—with one of our licensed professionals to better understand your mental health, substance use history, and overall needs. Based on that, we’ll determine whether PHP or IOP is the right starting point for your care. We’re not here to rush decisions—we’re here to make sure you get what’s actually right for you.

Admission Date and Getting Ready

Once your assessment is complete and a level of care is confirmed, we’ll set an admission date that works for you. Whether you’re coming from Santa Ana, elsewhere in Orange County, or across state lines, our team will help coordinate next steps and answer any last-minute questions. We also assist with transportation if needed. From the moment you arrive, you’ll step into a welcoming, judgment-free space designed specifically for men like you.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

PHP at The Grove is a structured, full-time treatment option for men who need consistent daily support without entering a hospital or inpatient setting. You’ll attend programming five days a week, participating in therapy sessions, psychiatric care, and group work designed to help you stabilize and rebuild. It’s a strong starting point if you’re coming out of detox or simply need a solid foundation, offering the intensity of residential treatment while allowing you to return to a sober living environment or home each night.

Transitioning from PHP to IOP

As you begin to make progress in PHP, our team will work with you to gradually step down into IOP when you’re ready. This transition isn’t rushed—it’s based on your goals, stability, and readiness for more independence. You’ll still have the same support system, but with a lighter schedule that lets you start reintegrating into daily life while staying grounded in your recovery work.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP offers a more flexible structure while still keeping you actively engaged in treatment. You’ll attend programming several times a week, continuing with group therapy, individual sessions, and any ongoing psychiatric support. It’s designed for men who’ve made progress in higher levels of care and are ready to apply what they’ve learned in real-world situations, with guidance and accountability from a team that knows your story.

Stepping Down and Aftercare Support

When you’re ready to step down from IOP, we won’t leave you hanging. You’ll work with your case manager to build a personalized aftercare plan—whether that’s transitioning into our outpatient services, sober living, or connecting with therapists and support groups near your home. We’re committed to helping you stay connected to your recovery long after you leave our daily programming.

What Do Our Programs Provide?

At The Grove, we handle the day-to-day logistics so you can focus on healing. We provide transportation to and from our treatment center each day, along with clean linens, fresh towels, and comfortable housing in our sober living homes. Nutritious meals are included to help you stay physically strong and mentally clear. If you’re interested in attending outside recovery meetings like AA, NA, or other support groups, we’ll help arrange transportation to those as well. From essentials to added support, we make sure you have what you need to feel grounded and cared for throughout your time with us.

Where You Will Stay

When you begin PHP or IOP at The Grove, your living arrangements are included as part of your treatment—not something you’ll need to worry about separately. You’ll stay in one of our comfortable, men-only sober living homes located near our center in Santa Ana. These are real houses in safe, residential neighborhoods—not clinical or institutional settings. Each home is overseen by an experienced sober living manager who understands recovery firsthand and is there to offer support, structure, and accountability. You won’t be paying rent or dealing with logistics—just living in a supportive space designed to help you stay focused on your healing.

How You Will Get Here

We know that when you’re ready for help, you don’t want to wait—and you shouldn’t have to. At The Grove, we offer fast admissions and can often get you started within 24 hours of your first call. If you’re coming from outside the area, we’ll help coordinate everything—from booking your flight to arranging airport pickup. Whether you’re driving in from a nearby city or flying in from out of state, our team will guide you through each step so you never feel like you’re doing it alone. Getting here shouldn’t be a barrier, and we’ll do everything we can to make your arrival smooth, supported, and stress-free.

Packing for Treatment

You don’t need to overthink it—we’ll let you know exactly what to bring once your admission is confirmed. In general, pack comfortable clothes, personal hygiene items, and any necessary medications. You’ll have access to laundry facilities, so there’s no need to bring your entire wardrobe. We provide all your basic living needs, including towels, linens, and meals, so you can travel light. If you have questions about specific items—like electronics, books, or fitness gear—our admissions team will walk you through what’s allowed and what’s best to leave at home. The goal is to arrive prepared, but not stressed.
